Taking care of your car is likely something that you consider to be a high priority, and the aesthetics of your vehicle would be a major aspect of that at any given point in time. A big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that owning a beautiful car can do a lot to boost your overall sense of self esteem in some way, shape or form, and that is why you should be careful while trying to clean it.
Chances are that you already put a lot of effort into cleaning your car, and since pressure washing it would be reasonable for you to assume that this is the right way to go about the process. However, we are here to tell you that pressure cleaning that is done on your car without first understanding the ins and outs of the practice can do more harm than good. If the pressure is set to the highest possible setting, suffice it to say that your car’s paint job will get scraped up and no amount of repair work is going to be able to reverse the damage that was done.
An improperly performed pressure washing can result in your car getting deep gouges in not just the paintwork but also the metal plates that lie just beneath it. Try to avoid cranking your pressure settings to the maximum, and instead keep them on the lower end of the spectrum. A PSI of about 1,000 to 1,500 is all you need, and anything beyond that would run the risk of leaving your vehicle with unmistakable scratches that can bring down its value.
